About Me
About Me
Hi, I’m Soha. I’m a student at All Saints High School in Ottawa, and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My interest in art started as early as kindergarten, when I realised that my classmates admired my drawings. This admiration motivated me to continue to hone my skills and gift drawings to those who appreciated them. Because I started at an early age, drawing became a second nature to me. My unrelenting practice made my family realise that my talent could be refined by professional teaching. Which is why I joined art classes at the age of ten with Shabnam Dastoornejad. These classes helped me learn new techniques and get more comfortable in expressing myself in my artworks.
Expanding my reach with art didn’t stop there, I applied for and got accepted to display my artworks in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on two separate occasions in 2024 and 2025. Furthermore, volunteering at art shows gave me the chance to watch how artists talk about their work and how people react to different pieces. Seeing what captured attention made me feel confident that I could sell my own art as well.
When I’m not drawing or painting, I’m usually in the kitchen. I love cooking and trying out new recipes, but I’m also curious about why food works the way it does, how ingredients change, what makes food nutritious, and how it all connects to our health. That mix of creativity and science is what makes me excited to study food science after high school.
